Instructions to knit a baby or reborn doll’s picot-edged romper suit with a leaf pattern, knitted leaves and flowers. There is a matching sun hat with a large brim, which covers the back of the baby’s neck and shoulders, and the most adorable sandals. When knitted this set will fit a 21-22 inch reborn, 19-20 inch reborn, 17-18 inch reborn or a 15-16″ reborn, or babies 2.5lb through to 3 months. Some experience is needed with this pattern as the travelling vine pattern is quite complex, and there is the odd p2tog that sneaks past you in places if you are distracted.

To knit this romper you will need:

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in main colour green, 50g contrast colour white, 100g contrast colour pink, 4 buttons for romper, 2 small buttons for shoes, 4m ribbon, embellishments as desired, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 3-5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in main colour green, 50g contrast colour white, 100g contrast colour pink, 4 buttons for romper, 2 small buttons for shoes, 4m ribbon, embellishments as desired, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” pr 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size

150g 4ply yarn in main colour green, 50g contrast colour white, 100g contrast colour pink, 4 buttons for romper, 2 small buttons for shoes, 4m ribbon, embellishments as desired, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles. OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

150g dk yarn in main colour green, 100g colour contrast white, 100g colour contrast pink, 4 buttons for romper, 2 small buttons for shoes, 4m ribbon, embellishments as desired, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

150g dk yarn in main colour green, 100g contrast colour white, 100g contrast colour pink, 4 buttons for romper, 2 small buttons for shoes, 4m ribbon embellishments as desired, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

This pattern has been designed by myself so it is in UK terminology. It does not follow the usual ‘shop bought’ format. There are 7 printed pages with clear and easy-to-follow instructions.
