FREE knitting pattern for baby bonding squares
Patterns
This is a lovely, simple little knitting pattern for making 5-inch bonding squares for your local special baby care unit. These are great if you enjoy hospital knitting. They are quick and easy. They are also a great way of using up those oddments of yarn lying around too. You don’t even have to make them both the same colour. Make two, one for the parent and one for the baby. Knitted in an easy, textured slip-stitch pattern each one will easily trap their corresponding scent on when with the parent and child. After a while, each bonding square will get swapped over so that parent and baby recognise each other’s smell. This will help the baby recognise the parent’s smell and bond with them.
You will need 30g of DK yarn for a pair of squares and 1 x pair of 4mm needles.
