Crochet and knit pattern

Manually emailed PDF instructions for a girl’s matinee set comprising of a matinee jacket, bonnet and bootees. You will need to be able to KNIT AND CROCHET to complete this pattern.  The areas shown in multi colours are crochet, whilst the plain steel grey colour areas are knitted.  As I class myself as a beginner crocheter, this pattern is easier to do than it looks.  The crochet areas are a mix of double crochet and trebles, whilst the knitted areas are worked in stocking stitch.  However, you will need to be able to pick up knitted stitches to complete the whole set.

To make this set you will need the following:

15-16 inch or 37.5-40cm Height Approx 2.5-4lb Prem Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C.  You will also need 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet and embellishments of your choice.  In addition, you will also need 3 stitch holders, 1 x 2.75mm crochet hook, 1 x 3.25mm hook for the bootees only and 1 x pr 2.75mm needles. You need to make a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17 inch or 40-42.5cm Height Approx 3-5lb Prem Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C.  You will also need 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet and embellishments of your choice.  In addition, you will also need 3 stitch holders, 1 x 3.25mm crochet hook, 1 x 4mm hook for the bootees only and 1 x pr 3.25mm needles.  You need to make a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19 inch or 45-47.5cm Height Approx 5-7lb Newborn Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 150g in colour C.  You will also need 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet and embellishments of your choice.  In addition, you will also need 3 stitch holders, 1 x 3.75mm crochet hook, 1 x 4.5mm hook for the bootees only and 1 x pr 3.75mm needles.  Alternatively you can use DK yarn and 1 x 3.25mm crochet hook, 1 x 3.75mm hook for the bootees only and 1 x pr 3.25mm needles.  You need to make a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21 inch or 50-52.5cm Height Approx 8-10lb Newborn Size

100g dk yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 150g in colour C.  You will also need 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet and embellishments of your choice.  In addition, you will need 3 stitch holders, 1 x 3.75mm crochet hook, 1 x 4.5mm hook for the bootees only and 1 x pr 3.75mm needles.  You need to make a tension of 24sts and 32 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22 inch or 55cm Height 0-3 Months Size

100g dk yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 150g in colour C.  You will also need 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet and embellishments of your choice.  In addition, you will also need 3 stitch holders, 1 x 4mm crochet hook, 1 x 5mm hook for the bootees only and 1 x pr 4mm knitting needles.  You need to make a tension of 22sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
