Knit Pattern 11 - Newborn Side Buttoning Romper

Instructions to knit a single size, 18-inch reborn doll or 5-6lb baby side buttoning romper suit in DK yarn.

The set comprises a romper suit with a knitted-in tree motif, a pull-on knotted hat and pull-on bootees.  We’ve used textured yarn to illustrate our romper/onesie and used smooth yarn for the motif and bands. The instructions for the motif are written, there is no chart to follow.  In keeping with this theme we added a tree motif in smooth yarn which we have embellished with ribbon roses.

To make this onesie, you will need to be able to knit, purl, increase, decrease and pick up stitches.

Materials needed to make this set:

You will need 150g of Patons Fairytale Velvet DK.  As an alternative, Jarol Raffles is a similar yarn. You will also need 100g of cotton yarn, 3.25mm needles, 4mm needles, 3 stitch holders, 14 buttons, and a few odd ribbon roses to complete if you want to embellish the motif.
