Manually emailed instructions for an unisex tracksuit knitting pattern.
This is a single-size knitting pattern suitable for either a baby or a reborn doll. This is also an unisex pattern so it can be knitted for either a boy or a girl. It has been designed to fit a 20-22 inch reborn doll or a 0-3-month-old baby and is knitted in DK yarn.
The set comprises a hooded top with a kangaroo-style side opening frontal pocket, trousers and bootees. Three colours have been used for the stripe pattern. The stripes feature throughout the top and run around just the bottom of each leg of the trousers. They also run around the bottom of each bootee. The bootees tie with a plaited cord, or alternatively, you could use ribbon instead.
To make this trendy tracksuit you will need to be able to knit, purl, slip stitches, pass slipped stitches over, knit 2 stitches together and increase stitches. You will also need to be able to cast on stitches with the 2 needle method as well as knit 2 stitches together from 2 separate needles while using a spare 3rd needle.
Materials needed for this unisex tracksuit knitting pattern:
You will need 150g of double knitting yarn in colour 1, 100g in colour 2 and 50g of colour 3. You will also need 3.25mm straight and circular needles, 4mm straight and circular needles and 2 stitch holders. The circular needles are needed for the hood as the stitches are picked up around the neckline. There is no knitting in the round, the circular needles are used purely for their length and ease of knitting.
