Manually emailed instructions to knit a reborn doll or baby cocoon set in either 4ply or DK yarn depending on which size you wish to knit. The set comprises a pointed-edge cocoon with a matching beanie hat, and a sweater with a chick wearing a top hat motif which is worked from a chart. The pattern comes in 9 sizes starting from a 10″ reborn doll through to a 22″ reborn doll or 1lb premature through to a 3-month baby.

To knit this cocoon set you need to be able to knit, purl, increase, make stitches, ssk with full instructions given.  You also need to be able to read a chart for the duck motif.

The materials you will need for this Easter chick cocoon set knitting pattern is as follows:-

10” or 25cm Height (Approx 1lb Prem) Size 

50g main colour 4ply, 50g white 4ply and oddment of orange and black 4ply.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow 4ply, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders, and 1 metre of 10mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

11” or 27.5cm Height (Approx 1-1.5lb Prem) Size

100g main colour 4ply or dk yarn, 50g white 4ply or dk and an oddment of orange and black 4 ply or dk.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow 4ply or dk, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders and 1 metre of 10mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.75mm needles for 4ply yarn or  3.25mm needles for dk yarn to make a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

12” or 30cm Height (Approx 1.5lb Prem) Size

100g main colour dk, 100g white dk and an oddment of orange and black dk.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow dk, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders and 2 metres of 15mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 4mm needles to make a tension of 22sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

14” or 30cm Height (Approx 2.5lb Prem) Size 

100g main colour dk, 100g white dk and an oddment of orange and black dk.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow dk, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders and 2 metres of 15mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 4.5mm needles to make a tension of 20sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 3-4lb Prem) Size 

150g main colour 4ply, 100g white 4ply, and an oddment of orange and black 4 ply.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow 4ply, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders and 1 metre of 25mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 2.75mm needles to make a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 4-5lb Prem) Size

150g main colour 4ply, 100g white 4ply and an oddment of orange and black 4 ply.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow 4ply, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders and 1 metre of 25mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 6-7lb Newborn) Size 

150g main colour 4ply or dk yarn, 100g white 4ply or dk and an oddment of orange and black 4 ply or dk.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow 4ply or dk, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders and 1 metre of 25mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.75mm needles for 4ply yarn or 3.25mm needles for dk yarn to make a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

150g main colour dk, 100g white dk andan oddment of orange and black dk.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow dk, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders and 2 metres of 25mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.75mm needles to make a tension of 24sts and 32 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

150g main colour dk, 100g white dk and an oddment of orange and black dk.  Additionally, you will need a larger oddment of yellow dk, 4 buttons, 3 stitch holders and 2 metres of 25mm wide ribbon.  You will also need 1 x pr 4mm needles to make a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
