Knitting Pattern 38 - Flower & Leaf Romper

Instructions to knit a baby romper. This baby or reborn doll’s onesie has a picot-edged romper suit with a leaf pattern, knitted leaves and flowers.  There is a matching sun hat with a large brim, which covers the back of the baby’s neck and shoulders.  This set also has the most adorable sandals. When knitted this outfit will fit a 21-22 inch reborn, 19-20 inch reborn, 17-18 inch reborn or a 15-16″ reborn.  Alternatively, it will also fit babies 2.5lb through to 3 months. Some experience is needed with this pattern as the travelling vine pattern is quite complex.  There is the odd p2tog that sneaks past you in places if you are distracted or on autopilot.

The materials you will need for this knitting pattern is as follows:-

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in main colour green, 50g contrast colour white and 100g contrast colour pink. In addition, you will need 4 buttons for the romper, 2 small buttons for the shoes, 4m ribbon and embellishments as desired.  You will also need 3 stitch holders and 1 x pr 2.75mm needles to make a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 3-5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in main colour green, 50g contrast colour white and 100g contrast colour pink.  In addition, you will need 4 buttons for the romper, 2 small buttons for the shoes, 4m ribbon and embellishments as desired.  You will also need 3 stitch holders and 1 x pr 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” pr 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size

150g 4ply yarn in main colour green, 50g contrast colour white and 100g contrast colour pink.  In addition, you will need 4 buttons for the romper, 2 small buttons for the shoes, 4m ribbon and embellishments as desired.  You will also need 3 stitch holders and 1 x pr 3.75mm needles.  OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

150g dk yarn in main colour green, 100g colour contrast white and 100g colour contrast pink.  In addition, you will need 4 buttons for the romper, 2 small buttons for the shoes, 4m ribbon and embellishments as desired.  You will also need 3 x stitch holders and 1 x pr 3.75mm needles to make a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

150g dk yarn in main colour green, 100g contrast colour white and 100g contrast colour pink.  In addition, you will need 4 buttons for the romper, 2 small buttons for the shoes, 4m ribbon and embellishments as desired.  You will also need 3 stitch holders and 1 x pr 4mm needles to make a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
