Knitting Pattern 62 - Larger Lacy Baby Cardigan

Instructions for a reborn doll or baby lacy cardigan, beanie hat and bootees set in either 4ply or DK yarn depending on size.  This little cardigan set is suitable for either a boy or a girl. When knitted it will fit either a 16-17″ 18-19″, 20-21″, 22″ or 24+” height baby/reborn doll or approx 4lb – 6-month-old baby. This pattern is for the larger sizes of cardigan.  If you wish to knit the very premature sizes of this set, you will need knitting pattern no. 15DBRW which you can find HERE.

To knit the larger size lacy baby cardigan you will need to be able to knit, purl, yarn forward, knit 2 stitches together, slip stitches, pass slipped stitches over and pick up stitches.

To make this larger lacy cardigan set you will need:

17-18” or 42.5-45cm Height (Approx 4-5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn and 4 buttons.  You will also need 1 x pr 2.75mm needles to make a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size

100g 4ply yarn and 4 buttons.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 51-53.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

150g 4ply yarn and 4 buttons.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.75mm needles.  Alternatively, use DK yarn and 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (Approx 0-3 Months) Size

200g dk yarn and 4 buttons.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.75mm needles to make a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

3-6 Month Size

200g dk yarn and 4 buttons.  You will also need 1 x pr 4mm needles to make a tension of 22sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
