Knitting Pattern 77 – Girls Cabled Dress Set

Instructions to knit a baby or reborn doll’s dress set with a cabled pattern, textured bodice, and sleeves.  There is a bonnet and Mary Jane-style shoes to match. I have knitted the outfit shown in Sirdar Snuggly DK. When knitted this set will fit a 21-22 inch reborn, 19-20 inch reborn, 17-18 inch reborn or a 15-16″ reborn, or babies 3lb through to 3 months.

To knit this stunning baby dress, you will need to be able to knit, purl, yarn forward, knit 2 stitches together, pick up stitches and follow instructions for the cables which are written out in full.

To make this dress set you will need:

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn, 6 buttons, 1.5 x m ribbon, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 6lb Prem) Size

150g 4ply yarn, 3 buttons, 1.5 m ribbon, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” pr 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 8lb Newborn) Size

150g 4ply yarn, 3 buttons, 2 x m ribbon, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles or dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 10lb Newborn) Size

200g dk yarn, 6 buttons, 2 x m ribbon, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 32 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

200g dk yarn, 6 buttons, 2 x m ribbon, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
