⚠ Safety Warnings

The following warnings are based on our formal EU risk assessment and must be followed when using our patterns to produce garments for babies or small children:

WARNING: Loose threads may pose a choking or entanglement hazard.

Ensure all yarn ends are securely finished and trimmed. Do not use if unravelling is visible.

WARNING: Buttons and small parts may detach and pose a choking risk.

Always sew buttons or embellishments on securely and test their attachment strength before use.

WARNING: Flammability hazard – keep away from open flames and heat sources.

Most yarns are flammable. Do not use near stoves, heaters, or candles.

WARNING: Risk of chemical exposure from uncertified yarns.

Use only OEKO-TEX or EN 71-3 compliant yarns. Avoid glitter or metallic yarns unless clearly labeled as baby-safe.

WARNING: Wash garment before first use to remove allergens or residues.

Residual chemicals in yarn may cause irritation to sensitive skin. Use hypoallergenic fibers when possible.

WARNING: Suffocation hazard – do not place garments or accessories over baby’s nose or mouth.

Use only under adult supervision. Avoid loose-fitting or oversized items.

WARNING: This item must not be used unattended.

Handmade baby clothing should always be used under close adult supervision.

WARNING: Ensure proper sizing and secure stitching to maintain garment safety.

Poor tension or unfinished seams may lead to breakage or fit issues. Always follow pattern sizing guidelines.

WARNING: Not suitable if frayed, damaged, or improperly assembled.

Discontinue use immediately if any part of the garment becomes damaged, loose, or worn.

Language Requirements

If garments made from our patterns are distributed across the EU, please ensure that these warnings are translated into the official language(s) of the destination country. Translations are available upon request.
