My name is Lynne and I created DollieBabies Knits for Newborns back in 2011.
DollieBabies is an independent UK knitting pattern business specialising in original baby and reborn doll knitting patterns designed by Lynne Christie. The collection includes premature and newborn baby knitting patterns, traditional baby outfits, coordinating baby knitting sets and pattern bundles, with designs available for a wide range of baby and reborn doll sizes.
My mother taught me how to knit when I was just 8 years old. She was an avid knitter, and she used to test big-brand knitting patterns before they were released. The items she made from them were then worn by models and photographed for the front cover of each pattern. My fascination for knitting started here.
Back in 2010, a friend wanted a baby cardigan for her premature baby but she couldn’t find one. She asked me to make one for her, but we struggled to find a pattern for the very tiny size she needed. I took a few measurements and made up the little cardigan as I went. As I had kept all the handwritten notes I had made whilst knitting it, I later typed them up into pattern form.
Little did I know at the time that this would be the start of things to come!
How it all started
Soon afterwards, I wanted to knit another outfit for one of my dolls, but once again, I couldn’t find a pattern for what I wanted. I sat down with a pencil and paper and drew and made notes of what I wanted. Suddenly, I had a new design. This, too, got knitted up and then typed up into pattern form for future reference.
Once my son started primary school, I wanted something to challenge me, so I carried on designing knitting patterns. I was thoroughly enjoying it. I decided then, to step it up a gear and make my designs available to everyone.
I got myself a website and on the 19th of April 2011, DollieBabies Knits For Newborns went live.
So here we are, 15 years later and we have more than a handful of patterns that we started with.
Our patterns have evolved over the years so we cater for multiple sizes starting from very premature and some now up to 7 years of age. We are sure you will find a pattern suitable for your loved one. Whether you are looking for something practical for warmth and comfort or themed for dressing up, the chances are we have the pattern for you.

DollieBabies is a small independent business, and I like to keep customer service personal. When you contact DollieBabies, you're not dealing with a chatbot or being passed through a customer service department — you're contacting me, the designer who wrote the knitting patterns.
