Knitting Pattern 93 – Pixie Dress Bodysuit

Instructions for a really cute, triple-layered pixie dress/bodysuit set, with a pointed hat and shoes. I was recently asked for a themed knitting pattern for a 6-9 month-old, so this pattern is from newborn size through to 9+ months.  This set features 3 layers of lacy pointed frills and has integrated nappy pants.

To knit this pretty pixie dress you need to be able to knit, purl, slip stitches, pass slipped stitches over, yarn forward, knit 2 stitches together, make stitches, join 2 separate pieces of knitting together using a 3rd needle and pick up stitches.

You will need:

19” or 50cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size

200g 4ply yarn, 8 buttons, 1 x m of ribbon for the bonnet, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 2.5mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 56cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

200g 4ply yarn, 8 buttons, 1 x m of ribbon for the bonnet, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

24” or 62cm Height (Approx 0-3) Size

200g 4ply yarn, 8 buttons, 1 x m of ribbon for the bonnet, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

27” or 68cm Height (Approx 3-6 Months) Size

250g 4ply yarn, 8 buttons, 1 x m of ribbon for the bonnet, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles.  OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

29” or 74cm Height (Approx 6-9 Months) Size

300g dk yarn, 8 buttons, 1 x m ribbon for bonnet, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

9 Month + Size

350g dk yarn, 8 buttons, 1x m of ribbon for the bonnet, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
