Manually emailed PDF instructions for a simple, traditional, garter stitch crossover cardigan. The pattern is easy to follow and it has been written for both the stripe pattern and the plain pattern with contrast edging. This pattern is so versatile, that you can mix and match the plain pattern with the stripe pattern within each piece knitted so you can make up your own individual style. The pattern ranges from premature size to 3 months, and the cardigan has a matching beanie hat and long leg length bootees.

You will need:

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 3-4lb Prem) Size

50g 4ply yarn, 50g 4ply yarn in contrast colour, 2 buttons, 2m of ribbon for the bootees, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 4-6lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn, 100g 4ply yarn in contrast colour, 2 buttons, 2m of ribbon for the bootees, 1 x stitch holder,1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 6-7lb Newborn) Size

100g 4ply yarn, 100g 4ply yarn in contrast colour, 2 buttons, 2m of ribbon for the bootees, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles or dk yarn, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

100g dk yarn in main colour, 100g dk yarn in contrast colour, 2 buttons, 2m of ribbon for the bootees, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

100g dk yarn in main colour, 100g dk yarn in contrast colour, 2 buttons, 2m of ribbon for the bootees, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

This pattern has been designed by myself so it is in UK terminology. It does not follow the usual ‘shop bought’ format. There are 4 pages with clear and easy-to-follow instructions. All my patterns are tested by independent knitters before they are released, so every effort is made so that they come to you error-free.
