Manually emailed instructions to knit a reborn or baby blanket with patterned stripes. We have used the 7 colours of the rainbow for ours, making it a great stash-busting pattern, but you could use a single contrast colour too. The double stripes are worked in an easy textured stitch adding interest to the project. Its finished size is 22 x 22 inches (56 x 56cm), but you can easily add more stripes to make the blanket longer. This pattern is ideal for the thicker DK yarns. We have used Woolcraft Baby Care, and 6mm needles. This makes the blanket lighter in weight whilst still keeping in the warmth.
To knit this baby blanket, you will need to be able to knit, purl, slip stitches and purl 3 stitches together through back of loop.
1 pair of 6mm needles and 200g of white dk yarn as your main colour. For the textured stripes, you will need 20g of dk yarn in each of the following colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo & violet. We have used baby dk yarn with a standard tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch on 4mm needles.
