Knitting Pattern 44 - Unisex Lacy Cardigan

Instructions to knit a baby or reborn doll, 2 colour, unisex lacy cardigan and beanie hat in either 4ply or DK yarn depending on which size you wish to make. The cardigan fastens with 3 buttons on the chest and it is ideal for the cooler summer evenings. This set will fit babies between 2.5lb – 3 months or 21-22 inch reborn, 19-20 inch reborn, 17-18 inch reborn or 15-16″ reborn dolls.

To make this cardigan you need to be able to knit, purl, yarn forward, knit 2 stitches together, slip stitches, pass slipped stitches over, pick up stitches

To knit this cardigan you will need:

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in main colour, 50g contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments as desired, 2 stitch holders, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 3-5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in main colour, 50g contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments as desired, 2 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size

100g 4ply yarn in main colour, 50g contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments as desired, 2 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles.  OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

100g dk yarn in main colour, 50g contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments as desired, 2 stitch holders,  1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

100g dk yarn in main colour, 50g contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments as desired, 2 stitch holders, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
