PDF Baby Knitting Pattern 124 Colour Block Cardigan Set

Manually emailed PDF instructions to knit a quick and easy baby cardigan, leggings, beanie hat and booties.  This knitting pattern starts from premature sizes and goes up to 6 months of age.  It is ideal for beginners and great for using up leftover balls of yarn.  The buttonholes on the cardigan are worked on both sides, making this set totally unisex so that it can be knitted before knowing the gender of the baby.  Once you know the gender, just sew up the buttonholes on the unwanted side and sew the buttons on over the top.  Full instructions are within the knitting pattern itself.

 

To knit this pattern you just need to be able to knit, purl, yarn forward, yarn round needle, purl 2 stitches together and knit 2 stitches together.

 

To make this practical baby set you will need the following materials:

 

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C.  To finish, you will need 6 buttons and 3m x ribbon.  You will also need 1 stitch holder and 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

 

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 3-5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C.  To finish, you will need 6 buttons and 3m x ribbon.  You will also need 1 stitch holder and 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

 

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C.  To finish, you will need 6 buttons and 3m x ribbon.  You will also need 1 stitch holder and 1x pr 3.75mm needles.  Alternatively, use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

 

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

100g dk yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C.  To finish, you will need 6 buttons and 3m x ribbon. You will also need 1 stitch holder and 1 x pr 3.75mm needles to make a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

 

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

100g dk yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C.  To finish, you will need 6 buttons and 3m x ribbon.  You will also need 1 stitch holder and 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

 

24” + or 61cm Height (3-6 Months) Size

100g dk yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C. To finish, you will need 6 buttons and 3m x ribbon.  You will also need 1 stitch holder and 1 x pr 4.5mm needles making a tension of 20sts and 27 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
