Manually emailed instructions to knit a V-neck raglan-sleeve baby cardigan with a decorative two-colour slip-stitch border, suitable for real babies and reborn dolls.
This baby cardigan knitting pattern includes nine sizes, fitting approximately 1lb premature babies through to 0–3 months (10–22" reborn dolls or babies). Depending on the size you wish to knit, the cardigan is worked in either 4-ply or double knitting (DK) yarn.
The cardigan itself is plain, with the two-colour slip-stitch pattern worked only around the border. This makes it a good choice for knitters who would like to try working with a contrast colour without using colourwork throughout the entire garment.
Only a small amount of contrast yarn is required, so the border is also a useful way to use up leftover yarn from another project. Alternatively, the cardigan can be knitted entirely in one colour if preferred.
With its V-neck, raglan sleeves and simple shape, this unisex baby cardigan can be knitted for either a boy or a girl and is suitable for everyday wear, baby gifts, charity knitting and reborn doll wardrobes.
