Manually emailed instructions to knit a decorative frill sleeve baby cardigan, suitable for real babies and reborn dolls.
This baby girl's cardigan knitting pattern features a round neckline, raglan sleeves and layers of knitted frills worked into the raglan shaping. A single frill around the cuffs and lower edge completes the design and carries the decorative detail throughout the cardigan.
The pattern includes nine sizes, fitting babies from approximately 1lb premature through to 0–3 months (10–22" reborn dolls or babies). Depending on the size you wish to knit, the cardigan is worked in either 4-ply or double knitting (DK) yarn.
The frills are created as part of the knitting rather than being sewn onto the finished cardigan. Spare knitting needles are used to hold the frill stitches while the different sections are worked together.
A larger version of this cardigan is also available for children aged 1–7 years, making it ideal for sibling sets or coordinated outfits.
Depending on the size you wish to knit, this pattern is worked in either 4-ply or DK yarn.
