This reborn doll dress knitting pattern includes a short dress, matching bonnet, close-fit leggings and slip-on shoes. The main outfit is knitted in 4-ply yarn, with contrasting yarn used for the leggings.
The dress features a lacy stitch pattern across the skirt and sleeves, with the same lace design repeated on the collar. The plain bodice fastens at the front with three buttons.
A matching bonnet is worked in the same lace stitch pattern and fastens under the neck with ribbon ties. The dress and bonnet can be embellished with ribbon bows or decorations of your choice.
The close-fit leggings are worked in a contrasting colour, making them a useful way to use smaller amounts of leftover yarn. The set is completed with a pair of plain slip-on shoes, which can also be embellished if desired.
When knitted in 4-ply yarn using the stated needles, the set is designed to fit a 10-inch reborn doll. Our outfit was knitted using James C Brett 4-ply yarn, which we found gave a particularly good fit on our Ashton Drake Emmy doll.
We have also knitted this pattern as written using standard double knitting (DK) yarn with 4mm knitting needles. Using this combination, our finished outfit fitted a 14-inch reborn doll.
