PDF Baby Boys Casual Waistcoat Knitting Pattern

Manually emailed instructions for a baby boy’s or reborn doll casual, tweed effect waistcoat in either 4ply or DK yarn depending on size. It is ideal for summer. This waistcoat will fit either babies 2.5lb -0/3 months or 21-22 inch reborns, 19-20 inch reborns, 17-18 inch reborns or 15-16″ reborns. I’ve knitted mine in Sirdar Snuggly DK.

To make this boys' waistcoat you need to be able to knit, purl, yarn forward, knit 2 stitches together and slip stitches

You will need:

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size

50g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons,  3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles, making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 3-5lb Prem) Size

50g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles, making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size

50g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles. OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

50g dk yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles, making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

50g dk yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 4mm needles, making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
