Manually emailed instructions for a simple, traditional, garter stitch crossover cardigan. The pattern is easy to follow and it has been written for both the stripe pattern and the plain pattern with contrast edging. This pattern is so versatile, that you can mix and match the plain pattern with the stripe pattern within each piece knitted so you can make up your own individual style. The pattern ranges from premature size to 3 months, and the cardigan has a matching beanie hat and long leg length bootees.
To knit this garter stitch baby cardigan you need to be able to knit, yarn forward, knit 2 stitches together and pick up stitches.
50g 4ply yarn in main colour and 50g 4ply yarn in contrast colour. You will also need 2 buttons and 2m of ribbon for the bootees. 1 x stitch holder and 1 x pr 2.75mm needles to make a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch
100g 4ply yarn in main colour and 100g 4ply yarn in contrast colour. You will also need 2 buttons and 2m of ribbon for the bootees. 1 x stitch holder and 1 x pr 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch
