PDF Double breasted hooded baby coat knit pattern

Manually emailed instructions to knit a reborn or baby girl’s double-breasted hooded coat and slip-on shoes in garter stitch and DK yarn.

When knitted, this set will fit a 0-3-month-old baby or a 20-22-inch reborn doll.  This is a single size pattern.

The coat and shoes are knitted in garter stitch throughout and in DK yarn.  This double-breasted hooded coat knitting pattern is a single-size pattern that uses any DK yarn with a standard tension of 22sts and 30 rows over stocking stitch on 4mm needles.  This set has been designed to fit a 0-3-month-old baby or a 20-22-inch reborn doll.

To knit this set, you will need 300g double knitting yarn. I have used Paton’s fairytale velvet, which is a textured baby yarn, but Jarol Raffles is a good substitute yarn. As mentioned above, you could use any standard DK yarn, it doesn’t have to be textured.  You will also need 1 pair each of 3.25mm needles and 4mm needles, 1 stitch holder, 6 buttons, and embellishments of your choice.

This easy knit pattern requires you to be able to knit, knit two stitches together, yarn forward, pick up stitches and turn before the end of a row.  You will also need to be able to slip stitches increase and also make stitches.

As you can see from our photos there are several ways of embellishing your finished set.  One of our customers has made rabbit ears and sewn them on which we think is lovely.  Another customer has embellished hers with curly ribbon and flowers made from ribbon.  However you embellish yours, it will be beautiful and unique.

Safety guidance is available in the pattern download and on our Safety Information Page.

PDF patterns are manually emailed to the EU, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
