Manually emailed instructions for a premature bodysuit knitting pattern. This is a single-size pattern and the bodysuit is knitted in DK (Double Knitting) yarn. There is a matching beanie hat and socks which are all worked in a simple eyelet stitch pattern. There are separate instructions to knit for either a boy or a girl.
This pattern forms part of a collection book for this style of bodysuit.
You could knit this outfit for a baby of unknown gender. To do this, just follow the right front for a girl and the left front for a boy. This way you will have buttonholes on both sides of the fronts. Once the gender of the baby is known, sew the buttonholes up on the side you want to place the buttons. Then sew the buttons on over the sewn-up buttonholes and your outfit is finished. This should only take a few minutes to complete.
When knitted, the set will fit a 3-4lb baby or a 16-inch reborn doll.
We have been told that this is an ideal pattern for hospital and charity knitting.
To knit this outfit you will need to be able to knit, purl, yarn forward, slip stitches, knit two stitches together, pass slipped stitches over. There are also some special abbreviations within this pattern which has full details on how to do.

11 buttons
1 pr 3.25mm needles
1 pr 4mm needles
5 Stitch holders
