These cardigans are in the same stitch pattern as pattern numbers 24 and 88, so either the bonnets, beanie hat, bootees or shoes will match with this pattern.
This is a customer-requested pattern and starts from premature size up to 6 months. The buttonholes are worked on both sides of the border, so the cardigan can be made up in advance of knowing the baby’s gender, then when you do know, just sew up the unwanted buttonholes, and sew the buttons on over the top.
To knit this leaf patterned baby cardigan you need to be able to knit, purl, yarn forward, slip stitches, pass slipped stitches over, knit 2 stitches together and pick up stitches.
100g 4ply yarn, 6 buttons for round neck version or 4 buttons for v neck version, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
100g 4ply yarn, 6 buttons for round neck version or 4 buttons for v neck version, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
150g 4ply yarn 6 buttons for round neck version or 4 buttons for v neck version, 3 stitch holders, 1x pr 3.75mm needles. OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
