Manually emailed instructions to knit this lovely romper set. This is a customer-requested pattern for a totally unisex romper, with a choice of long or short sleeves and legs. To make it totally unisex, it has buttonholes worked on both sides so that it can be made well in advance of knowing the baby’s gender, and once revealed, just sew the unwanted buttonholes up and sew the buttons over the top. It comes in premature to 6-month sizes.
To knit this baby onesie/romper/sleepsuit you will need to be able to knit, purl, yarn over needle, knit 2 stitches together, purl 2 stitches together, slip stitches, pass slipped stitches over and pick up stitches.
150g 4ply yarn for short leg/sleeve version, 250g 4ply yarn for long leg/sleeve version, 7 buttons, 2 metres of ribbon for the bootees, 5 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
150g 4ply yarn for short leg/sleeve version, 250g 4ply yarn for long leg/sleeve version, 7 buttons, 2 metres of ribbon for the bootees, 5 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
200g 4ply yarn for short leg/sleeve version, 300g 4ply yarn for long leg/sleeve version, 7 buttons, 2 metres of ribbon for the bootees, 5 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles. OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
200g dk yarn for short leg/sleeve version, 300g dk yarn for long leg/sleeve version, 7 buttons, 2 metres of ribbon for the bootees, 5 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
