Manually emailed instructions to knit a cute little yoked matinee outfit for a premature to 3-month-old baby, or 15 -22″ reborn dolls. The set comprises a traditional style matinee set, but with a yoke that is knitted sideways. Once the yoke is knitted, the rest of the jacket is knitted top down. There is very little sewing up for this set, as the main body is knitted in one piece so that just leaves the sleeve seams and the front bands to be sewn together. There is also a matching bonnet for the girls, or beanie hat for the boys, and matching bootees.
To make this baby matinee set, you need to be able to knit, purl, work short rows, pick up stitches, yarn forward, knit 2 stitches together, slip stitches and pass slipped stitches over.
200g 4ply yarn, 4 buttons, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
200g 4ply yarn, 4 buttons, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
200g 4ply yarn, 4 buttons, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles or dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
200g dk yarn, 4 buttons, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 32 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
200g dk yarn, 4 buttons, 1 x stitch holder, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
