PDF Simple Baby Romper Knitting Pattern

Manually emailed instructions to knit a simple baby or reborn doll romper with a matching beanie hat and bootees. The stitch pattern is made up of knit and purl stitches, so it is easy to do, and it also knits up quickly.

Our easy-knit pattern comes in premature to 3-month sizes and is suitable for both babies and reborn dolls alike.  To be able to make this baby onesie you need to be able to knit, purl, yarn forward, knit 2 stitches together and pick up stitches.

To make the simple baby romper you will need the following:

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn, 8 buttons and 3 stitch holders.  You will also need 1 x pr 2.75mm needles to make a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx. 3-5lb Prem) Size

150g 4ply yarn, 8 buttons and 3 stitch holders.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx. 5-7lb Newborn) Size

150g 4ply yarn, 8 buttons and 3 stitch holders.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.75mm needles. OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles to make a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx. 8-10lb Newborn) Size

200g dk yarn, 8 buttons and 3 stitch holders.  You will also need 1 x pr 3.75mm needles to make a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

200g dk yarn, 8 buttons and 3 stitch holders.  You will also need 1pr x 4mm needles to make a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
